I do not like JJ Abrams as a director. i feel he did a terrible job with star trek, and missed the point of the show entirely. I also disliked how he shoe-horned in nostalgia seemingly for nostalgia's sake. Im very worried that will happen with star wars, that the old characters will be shoe horned in and over shadow anything new being done. i honestly would have preferred if luke, han and leia were not in this new movie because their film stories are over, they got the happy ending and their resolution. time for new, completely new.
also what the fuck is wrong with the old school lightsaber? it doesnt need a cross guard, it has no weight to balance. it would make using the thing that much more difficult.
