Today marks the anniversary of one such notorious event...
But in the moment of yet another crisis in Louisiana, it just makes me wonder how much yet we have to endure... Before we learn. Before we care.

Louisiana... I can't help but think of what happened here not too far back. Something similar in the way of natural disaster... La Conchita, a community not too far from where I live, had a rather horrific landslide due to relentless heavy rainfall. A good part of the small village was destroyed. People died. Good people. I knew a few who lost their house, and everything they really had... Louisiana might be a grander scale, but it hits as though it were close to home again, because those people who are suffering are my countrymen. Yet people are treating them as though they were never Americans to begin with...
Any truth upon our country's ideals and arrogance is being proved by how we are treating our own people in their time of need. It sickens me...

I love my country, don't get me wrong... I love what America stands for... I just don't like the hypocrites and the assholes that are fouling it up.
