Well, today started out like any other Sunday.

It happens to be my grandmother's (and my 1st cousin's) birthday today. So my familia rolled out the BBQ pits, bought a shit-load of food, etc, etc... And, I was chosen to bake the cake for dear old granny.
So far, everything had been going smoothly. Popped the tin full of batter in the oven and let it cook while I buttered the bread and made a salad. Then came the time to check the coveted dessert. So, I opened the oven and began to roll out the tray when gigantic blue flames engulfed my entire head! Craptastic. I had closed my eyes and turned away in reflex, so, after feeling the heat dissipate, I slowly opened my eyes. I could see. And I wasn't on fire! Woo, glad that was over. So I go to the mirror in my bathroom to check the damage and bam! The entire front of my hair was singed, along with my eyebrows and my eyelashes. More hideous than before, but in one piece, and not at all burned, save for my hair...

If anything, it's given me an up close and personal view on what it's like to be a cake. Or anything else that gets baked (in which case, I would've rather settled for a bong).
