I went on shopping spree today and bought myself a microwave oven, a new VCR, a new iron, various cds, and a plate of chips with beans. I also bought a present for my step-dad. Ok, his birthday is not for a few months yet, but I figured that while I was in spending mood I would get something for someone other than myself. My step-Dad likes jigsaw puzzles (zzzzzzz!) and he is also into Lord Of The Rings so, while wandering the aisles of Toys R Us, I happened upon a 3D Orthanc Tower puzzle. I am sure he will love this! I might give it to him for Father's Day though as Father's Day is closer than his birthday. So, there I was waiting in line at the checkout in Toys R Us and although the queue wasn't all that long, it seemed to be taking forever to move which is quite odd really, as the people ahead of me didn't exactly have a lot of items. I mean, just compare it to buying groceries in a supermarket. In the supermarket people queue up with great big trolleys loaded with scores of items (or in the case of one lady who shops in my local supermaket, a trolley loaded up with, and only with, hundreds of carrots) and the folks on the checkout seem to just zap the items through in seconds (well, they do in my local supermarket anyway) but over at Toys R Us, it takes a seeming eternity for someone to buy just a few items. A couple of places ahead of me, to my misfortune, there happened to be a small boy who was crying and whining and grizzling and just wouldn't stop and try as I might I just couldn't block the sound from my mind. Behind me a little girl asked her dad, "Why is that boy crying?". The little girl's father absently expressed his ignorance as to the cause. Suddenly, the little girl darted past me towards the family of the boy and loudly enquired "WHY IS THAT BOY CRYING?". Tee-hee!! It was so funny I almost pissed myself (metaphorically speaking). I had to hide my face behind the 3D Orthanc Tower puzzle so that the boy's parents would not see my mirth!!
