I am imprisoned within a cage of my own making and to which I have lost the key.

This cage was built from my appetites and my fears.

Its bars were welded in place by the inexorable causality which stems from my every action and inaction.

My pleasurable little acts of self-indulgence have become mere habits and my habits have become a cumbersome burden to...

Welcome once again to another update from the occasional existence of moonshadow!

First things first, my favourite song at the moment is Knights of Cydonia by Muse

Meanwhile, today's news is that our intrepid explorer recently spent a week wandering about in the rain-drenched land of Devon. Highlights included going on a wildlife walk around a place called Berry Head with English Nature....

The odd thing is that I...

Yeah I fix planes, and it can be a rewarding job. Obviously, I don't get paid much since I'm military, but I enjoy the work and sense of accomplishment. Good to hear from you again...you'd dropped of the map for awhile!

Hi! The set was entirely my idea, but Steve did insist on the egg smile I like your insight, it's pretty much right-on, when I look at it that way, although I was not thinking of rituals at the time, just trying to get through it!
The meat did start to smell bad, yes frown

Oh dear! I seem to be coming down with a bit of a cold. I'd like to think that I don't get ill too often but all last week I was feeling knackered and now this week I have a manky throat, congestion, headache etc. It's hardly surprising as over the past few weeks, practically everyone at work and a number of family members have...

Good cover of one of my favorite songs. I have not heard her in a while (since, like, Daisy Chainsaw). The comic book looks interesting. Thanks for the tips.

OK so its time for eleven of my favourite YouTube videos. You may want to watch these quickly as lately numerous music videos seem to have been removed from YouTube due to the diligent efforts of the music industry's corporate lawyers.

1. The following absolutely phenomenal piece features the video from Mylene Farmer's "Sans Logique" overlaid with the music of "Persephone" by Dead Can Dance....

There are a number of different manifestations of it, but the fact that there are so many is sort of the myth itself.

The Valkyrie, the Ice-Queen, the Sex Kitten, the California Blonde, the Angel...there's a certain thing about blondeness that really polarizes people.
remuemenage:
I don't like music videos I think they are contrived and for the most part detritus

however I am moved by Massive Attack - I think they are wonderful artists and I appreciate their reference to the genius of Stanley Kubrick

nevertheless I love you - and I appreciate what is here because it comes from you

Anyone here into with Joy Division? An enterprising individual on YouTube has kindly created a totally hilarious video to go one of my favourite songs, "No Love Lost". The video consists of the music of Joy Division set against the cheesy dance routine of some song or the other called "I Wanna Love You Tender". Somehow the combination works really well.

So, onto more serious...

Sorry to here about your Dad! I thought exactly the same about the music at my Grandads funeral - I mean he listened to classical music all the time, but had ABBA of all things played. Was extra odd as my old biology teacher was now the church-keeper. I agree, the viewing in the coffin, is unreal not like the person you remember.

The Youtube clip works so well. Thanks for the info. My mind is pretty much decided on B. The London as an alternative though will be the bargaining point. smile

My dad died recently. I broke off contact with my dad long ago so I had no idea he was ill. Apparently, he has been afflicted with dementia for the past 6 years and he'd been in and out of hospital several times. On Thursday evening I got a call from my auntie to say that he was in hospital with not long to live....

Sorry to hear about your father.
mneylu:
I'm sorry to hear about your father. At least you can feel good knowing you did make the trip to go see him- after all those years, as opposed to never even thinking of making peace. If there is some way that he could have seen you show up where he was, I am sure his heart would have lifted .

I wanted to thank you also for the awesome comment on my set that you left.. and say that I am sorry about taking so long to reply.

Better late than never?

Welcome once again to another episode of the Wonderful Life of Archon!! Today I am mostly drinking Dandelion and Burdock and playing computer games.

Today's film recommendation is They Live. I would love to tell you all about why this film is so great but unfortunately, it would be difficult to do so without ruining the film for you. Suffice to say it is...
