Sorry to here about your Dad! I thought exactly the same about the music at my Grandads funeral - I mean he listened to classical music all the time, but had ABBA of all things played. Was extra odd as my old biology teacher was now the church-keeper. I agree, the viewing in the coffin, is unreal not like the person you remember.

My dad died recently. I broke off contact with my dad long ago so I had no idea he was ill. Apparently, he has been afflicted with dementia for the past 6 years and he'd been in and out of hospital several times. I'm sorry to hear about your father. At least you can feel good knowing you did make the trip to go see him- after all those years, as opposed to never even thinking of making peace. If there is some way that he could have seen you show up where he was, I am sure his heart would have lifted .
