I recently spent a week in North Devon in a caravan near Woolacombe. The plan was to spend a lot of time walking around the Devon countryside and also to get on a boat for a day trip to the island of Lundy. So from the time I got there it rained and rained, the roof of the caravan leaked and the wind...

Has anyone ever tried dandelion wine? Yesterday I had a smalll bottle of dandelion wine and it was exceedingly scrumptious. As I noted in my previous entry, I have started drinking alcohol again after seven years of abstinence and I am experimenting a bit. I recently discovered that the Lyme Bay Winery produces all kinds of weird and wonderful wines such as dandelion wine, birch...

Dandelion pizza is a trick to get children to get their greens. When you make a pizza you send them out to pick the leaves and let them top the pizza, and they will often happily consume it because they "made" it. Mostly it just tastes like pizza, not sweet, but not bitter either.

One of my favorite Kate Bush songs.

If toyed with the idea of making dandelion wine but have yet to do so. I've never had the opportunity to tried it either.

Seven years ago I decided to not drink alcohol. Now, having abstained for seven years, I have decided to drink alcohol again. Yay!

This isn't the first time I have spent several years abstaining from alcohol and, who knows, it may not be the last.

However, for now I am enjoying the pleasure of sampling a variety of ales (such as the scrumptious Old Tom...

I've haven't had an alcoholic beverage in over two years, and I just turned 21 not but a year ago. Got over my drinking before the ripe age, I suppose. Although I've been contemplating an occasional glass of organic red or white wine, you know.. for heart health.. smile
Are you a werewolf fan, more so than a fan of the cramps?
Have you ever watched American werewolf in London? I particularly like that film for its transformation effects.

Here's an interesting article concerning the so-called "Cocaine Mummies"; ancient Egyptian mummies which were reported to contain traces of cocaine and nicotine. The presence of cocaine and nicotine in ancient Egyptian mummies has been interpreted by some as evidence of pre-Columbian trading contact between the 'Old World' and the 'New World'. This article examines the evidence and argues that it is not quite as conclusive...

Take a look at the YouTube video below for a frank and concise account of the causes of the current economic troubles in Ireland delivered in layman's terms (the explanation posited in this video is probably valid as an explanation for the economic troubles seen over the past few years in the USA, UK, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and pretty much everwhere).

An Irishman abroad...

Time a musical cover version comparison. The track is "Temptation" by Heaven 17 and the cover version is by Cradle of Filth. Click on the YouTube videos to compare the two. Which do you prefer?

"Temptation" by Heaven17

The expressionistic set design in Heaven17's video is awesome.

How awesome is this? Scenes from The Shining set to the eerie sound of Careful With That Axe Eugene by The Pink Floyd.

phallen:
Ok, that was creepy.
Really going to have to get around to watching The Shining sometime.
