I was referred to this article recently. One of my absolute favorite Writers, Kurt Vonnegut did this article on America's politics, America's outlooks, and the human state in general. Truly fascinating. Really though, I think it says what most of us already know, whether we choose to believe it or not, in terms we may not be used to hearing, thus making it all the easier for us to hear.

Another suggestion: Skip the pigheaded flamewars at the bottom of this (and practically any other article hosted on that site) This sort of ignorant, closed-minded, unnecessary cock-blockery is yet another firm bastion in my unrelenting disgust for politics as a whole.
