Today I'm a bit crabby. Isn't funny how life can seem to be going in your favour; business is good, romantic matters are picking up, you're generally happy. Then, crash, suddenly, all those things look the bottom of portapotty at the end of an all day festival. Seriously, I sometimes get the feeling that I'm smacking my head against led wall encased in cinderblocks. I must have pissed in the karmic wheaties recently and wasn't aware of it. Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, I watched this movie the other night called Winter Passing that was depressing as hell and didn't help my mood at all. But damn, it was a good movie. What's going on in the Middle East right now has me in a little bit of a funk as well. Typically I'm the guy that roots for the underdog. One would tend to think that underdog is Isreal, however, I'm speaking of the Palastineans. At one time I felt really bad for them, after all they had their home taken away from them no more than fifty years ago. I didn't always agree with their method of fighting back but I understood their plight. Fortunately, Isreal finally showed some common sense and started working toward giving the Palasinians a home. But, as we all know, that just wasn't going to be enough. At least not for the militant wing of Hamas. Then Hizballah gets involved and now everything has gone to hell. I just wish that Isreal would act with a little bit more restraint. Because what they're doing is having the opposite desired effect. This afternoon I listened to NPR reporting what was happening and of the things they reported on was the fact that many people in Lebanon were rallying behind Hizballah. Now any relatively intelligent person would say, "That's just silly, if Hizballah hadn't kidnapped some Isreali soldiers and started firing rockets into northern Isreal then Lebanon wouldn't have been attacked". Well that's what I would think. If it were me I'd be pissed and calling for Hizballah's dissarmament and ouster from the country. Unfortunately, ninety percent of the people on this planet are morons who can't see three feet past their noses and refuse to except responsibility for anything. They Isreali's are acting like rabid dogs and Hizballah and Hamas are reaping the rewards. Isreal has a right to defend itself but when stung by a bee one doesn't go on a rampage killing every bee in sight. Blah, blah, blah somebody get me a tissue.
