So I decided its about time for a real update. No more of that one liner bull shit. Here's what I've been up to:
Last week my pop died. The funeral was Monday and strangely it was one of the best days of my life. Sad, yes, but I saw a side of my mom's family that I've never really seen before. I've realized how important it is to have a strong family and network of friends. My grandpa's involvement in the community was amazing...makes me feel lazy to know that he did so much...when he was flipping 82! What a good guy.
There had been some tension in my mom's family between my mom and one of her sisters. There was a huge fight years ago when my grandma died, but Monday at the funeral I saw my mom and my aunt hugging and saying "let by gones be by gones" so I was really touched. So mushy lately. Its just amazing how loved I felt that day, and to know that all of those people will be around if I ever need them. I've got a cool fam, fo sho!
On a lighter note, spring term is coming to a close. I'm almost through week 9, and next week is dead week. I have no finals during finals week so that's some vacation time for me. I have a couple big presentations next week though, and a test online, so I've gotta get my butt in gear and get shit done. I might sign up for a teacher's assistant position for an online soc. class this summer. 4 credits to post shit online? Too easy.
I'm not sure what I'm doing for work this summer. I'll be staying where I'm at now with 12 hours a week, but I might pick up another job later on. I get my wisdom teeth out June 14 and mom's makin me stay at the parents' house for a couple days til I heal up. This weekend we're going to clean out my grandpa's house and I get his old couch. Yay for real furniture, out with the cheap futon!
