Ahh! I wrote a whole long reply and it went to who knows where... shocked

In summary, I hear back on the Foreign Service thing in June or July, but I'm pretty confident I made it to the next round... smile

This weekend, of course, is Coachella, which will rule. I have 2 extra tickets (non-profit) and Suicide Kids get first crack at them. I can email them to you even!! eeek Ah, the wonders of the information age! The first day is sold out, thanks to Radiohead, so it shouldn't be too hard to get rid of the extras.

After that, I have to throw together a lecture/presentation for next week in Sacramento. I should have done it already, but I was afraid they would take away the cool picture of me (actually, its a WSJ type illustration) in the dictionary next to the definition of procrastinator.

Note: two Jehovah's Witnesses just came to the door.

Ordinarily I would just ignore them and pretend that nobody's home, but for some reason I didn't even check and then I was nice to them...I'm such a whore for karma... wink

For anyone who bothers coming to my site:

You may have noticed that I sometimes go a while without updating the journal...I have plenty to blather on about but I wouldn't know where to start.

So feel free to ask a question, start a discussion or even an argument. Communication is the key to all relationships, even virtual ones... wink

ah, i'm glad your feeling a little better. but seriously, youve got to relax and enjoy life a little more. sure some stress is garnered from the outside, but lots of it is self induced. this is all we have! so we need to stop and enjoy it right?

Good God! Do you ever just put all your cards out there to a person you like, only to have them fold? Its a bit painful. frown

With pain and scars come wisdom and experience, I guess...but does it really have to hurt that much?

Sorry to bum anyone out who's reading this...

Damn...the weekend is already half-empty...

Work is piling up on my desk...I wanted to get rid of most of it today, but I ended up doing very little. I guess that means I'll spend the remainder of the weekend digging through it so it won't be staring me in the face Monday morning, when the phones start ringing and more flows in...

Went to the...

"Think for yourself 'cause I won't be there with you."

That could have come from God, your parents or...for your chance to win tickets to Coachella, guess who said it, sang it or wrote it. No fair Googling! wink

I WANT MY MTV...........

saritalr:
hahaha sure sure sure! i dont know, i felt like i was citing more the director and acting team rather than the movies yourself, but i do see your point! i cant belive youre a big daily show fan... just like me! do you stream it on the internet? if you go to the dailyshow website at comedy central they update show highlights every few days, theyve got a great archive too. i dont have a tv, but i watch it on there all the time smile
madigan:
I'm already an artist, though. I just haven't touched a canvas in about two years. Sorry I took so long to write back, but my computer in town has been going a little crazy on me. Needless to say, I haven't been keeping up much.

So, you just moved to Merced, eh? What in the hell possessed you to come here?

Ok...the kid in the pictures was obviously me around 21 or so years ago. Just like to have people think..."god, that kid was cute...what the hell happened??"

I was so dead today at work, it hurt. And I just saw (just now!!) the tattoo I was considering...on a stupid girl on MTV!!

ARGH!! mad Oh well, I guess you can't file a restraining order to...

who's arguing for utopia? i'm well aware a successful communist system is next to impossible to achieve. but i still think its more feasible and functional than a libertarian society. people need some form of government to guide them, no matter how small.
take for instance george washington, he was offered absolute power and the throne, but he turned it down. because he believed in the democratic system. there was also that old roman guy but i cant remember his name smile
saritalr:
hmmm maybe, utopia one day, but i doubt it. what has happened to me? i used to be so idealistic! these 18 years of live have obviously hardened me wink
