just start using this site and finding it rather confusing! would love to get some friends and start joining groups but finding it rather difficult, not sure what to do! if anyone can help, it would be great

If you uploaded a profile picture, people would be more willing to accept you. Most private groups have rules about letting you in if you've only been here a short time. I'd join public groups and make some friends in the private groups you want to join. They'd be more likely to talk with the group owner and say you're cool. It can take some time, but it's usually worth it.
