Ok...been more than a while since I updated this. We've been keeping pretty damn busy, pushing through this final stretch. Working in the training department office has been some fun and a lot of head ache, but if all the stuff I set up continues to run, then I'll be happy. The Italians are a daily pain in the ass, but we're all working toward the same goal. The Afghans are, mostly, lazy and are balking at taking over control of operations, but we're not giving them much choice, just dropping stuff on them and letting them know that if they don't start doing it then it won't get done.
A lot of range time and some time outside watching them work. Hopefully some more of that later this week.

I spend a lot of my time overseeing the training and developing lesson plans and aids. Get out to the range when I can.

occasionally I get bored, but getting to make up the tests sometimes affords some moments of humor...

The guys are all ready to go. I'd kinda actually like to stay longer. Mainly just because I'm finally seeing all the work I've been doing be put into effect and I want to see it along, but I suppose that's the sort of thing that will always be ongoing, so I'll just have to pass my projects on to the next team and hope they do well with it.

This isn't exactly the type of job I would have picked; it's certainly a complete change from my other deployments, but it's been just as much work in its own way. It'll be good to get back to the US and home.
