Finally managed to get to a good enough internet connection to upload the photos from the first four months or so in Afghanistan.
things are going. Coalition staff got shaken up at my base and I got placed into the training department. I get to have more say in what goes on in the training (a lot more actually since developing the training has largely fallen on me). The shitty thing is I have to spend all day in the office saying it. Other than that, watching Deadwood and reading Lonesome Dove. Guess I'm on a Westerns kick. I think I'm allowed.

Welcome to admin. The only benefit being on desk duty is that you can effect many more field folks lives for the better than if you were out of doors with the boys & girls yourself. Creating clear path can be very, very rewarding. Best wishes.
