Easter Weekend went awesomely. Had a house full of people and lots of food. I'll maybe post pictues of the lamb being roasted in the back yard, but I'll have to spoiler it for all my veggie and vegan friends. But we had lots of friends and family over. My roommate's parents cooked A LOT of food. Baklava and some other greek pastries I cannot pronounce, pasticho (sorta Greek lasagna) tzitziki sauce, salads, there was the roasted lamb, home made sausage, spinach pie...and so on. Melanie and her friend from SF, Claire stopped by and tolerated our wanton omnivorousness.
Some of the other funness from Greek parents being around was the construction of a big gardening box in the back yard (the ground here is about three inches sod and then solid rock...or rather lots of broken up rock) and the planting of many delicious plants. Looking forward to using fresh herbs and salad materials.

It's definitely spring going on summer here. But it's nice. April and October are usually my favorite months in Texas. It's almost 80 during the day and breezy and just warm enough to have a yard again and to be planting.
and in the spirit of spring, I am growing the one thing that I can manage without too much effort: facial hair.


I don't know if it's actually good for anything (certainly not edible) but it's decorative.
