The good thing about almost getting killed on your motorcycle is the "almost" part. Big flatbed truck a way ahead suddenly got on the brakes and ended up sideways across two lanes of traffic, causing every vehicle ahead between it and myself to get on the brakes HARD. Got on the brakes and the back end kicked out a bit a couple of times, but kept it upright and steered it onto the shoulder. Luckily the car ahead of me stayed on the road. If he'd gone onto the shoulder also, like the three cars that collided several cars ahead of us, I'd have eaten his back windshield.
that one woke me up. but there's a certain joy in "whew! got out of THAT one....now gotta keep my eyes out for the next one..."

Spent the afternoon helping a good friend take four kittens to the vet for their first shots and meds. I had gotten a rescued kitten from Katy almost a year ago and this other friend adopted it...and then IT had kittens...noone was expecting her to have a littler at six months old, I guess. So we took the little momma and her brood to the vet to get checked up and then went and got them some more food and toys and stuff.

good excuse to get out of the house...and see kittens!



looking back over time sheets. I haven't worked a full day of work since the New Year. Job better pick up in the next couple weeks or I'm gonna have to figure some shit out....there's always Afghanistan....
