I look at my Christmas gifts and it occurs to me that I might be a geek.

video game- Stalker, Clear Sky
books- The Watchmen graphic novel and Spook Country by William Gibson (was actually given both books...twice!) and a book of photography of the Beats in the later years.
and gift cards for book stores.

Holidays have gone well. Spent obligatory time with the family, but it wasn't too bad. It's strange at the get togethers. I can think back to when I and my siblings were the rug rats running about with our cousins making noise and causing a fuss. Now I look around at my married sibling and cousins and their kids running abot and I think to myself....how is it noone shot us in the head when we were six years old?
nah. they are ok in small dosages.

Also got spend time with my best friend and her family. Her parents are from Greece so we would wake up about two hours before her ( I didn't have much choice since I was sleeping in the living room and had to wake when they did) and sit over coffee and discuss American politics from their point of view. And also food and travel. the important stuff.

I spent a little too much on gifts this year. I don't know why, but fuck it, it is fun. It is one of the best things about the holidays.

so. eating like a fool at Christmas feasts. Sitting around a lot playing Vampire: Bloodlines and reading books and watching movies. I need to...find the motivation to exercise.
