and finally it turns out I was right to be upset the first time. If I stop actively going to drill every month (even though that portion of my contract ended last year) I will be denied the education benefit I earned for being activated twice after September 11th, 2001.
So I guess I'll be a Marine for a little bit longer.
even better, at the end of my contract in September, if I choose to stay in and reenlist as a non drilling Reservist, I'll still lost my money. So after September I have to leave the Marine Corps, even if I don't really want to.

I was wondering if you've had a chance to put your Arabic training to good use since you've been back. Also, looks like I'll be visiting Austin the first week of March, so wanted to see if you'd be around. I was hoping to meet up with some people while I'm out there and maybe do something fun, like a night at the Alamo Drafthouse or have some drinks or something. Let me know!
