Don't want to talk about it too much here. It seems so much more than five years ago now. A lot has happened since then and I've been a lot of places, but it's strange that the attacks had that much effect on my life, me being all the way down in San Antonio when it happened. It was the start of quite a bit of traveling. first to NYC that October and then via the military all over the place.

I hope that the families of the victems have found some amount of healing and comfort since then. I just remember being amazed by the city when I showed up there a month later. The solidarity and compassion there was otherworldly. And even with the attacks so fresh and painful a wound there was an immense joy in everything from the Yankees in the World Series to the Halloween parade.

People die. It happens all the time and for all kinds of reasons. And there is so much going on today that demands the attention and the sympathy of the world. But I don't think it's at all out of place to take a couple moments to remember. So I hope ( I don't really pray) for the peaceful rest of those that lost their lives and those that gave their lives on 11 September, 2001.
