Here I am. I can barely move my left arm... or my right for that matter. My new job started monday. I am in pain. I will explain in detail (if anyone really wants to know) what I have been doing at the Fort after I soak in some Epsom salts, rub on some Cold Heat, and pop some advil. In the meantime, I shall...

George S. is the shit!!

I can sympathize with that all! I am in a piping band and we have to march around in our 1000 ton wool kilts in all weather and bagpipes aren't that light either! Do you actually have to fire the guns?? Sounds like a neat job, though. Better than being a lackey behind a desk.

Congrats on the PhD! Might as well do it now. I know lots of people who take like a decade to do it when they finally decide to in their 30's or 40's when they are already working, have families etc. What are you doing your degree in?

That was a long comment!

A journal, in point form.

-replaced power supply on media computer. Swung an excellent deal of $56CAN for a 550 watt with a dual fan. Quite pleased.

-Sent laptop in for replairs (this is reason why am on a scary G4. I remain confused and bewildered. Although am digging Garage Band as I remix NIN's The Hand That Feeds). Stupidly tripped over power cord and...

I am finding that as I have made a life-altering decision, with a determination I have never before posessed in my life, the people around me who I would expect to rally to my cause, and be the most excited and encouraged by my decision, are instead, in a hugely disappointing manner, pointing out every negative aspect in some sort of exhaustive effort to discourage...

I am pretty good but bad things are still happening to me......Nothing yet today *knocks on wood* but a lot yesterday. I am trying to figure out how so much stuff can happen at one time......I have a show tonight that is supposed to draw up to 1000 people....Rage is replaced by nerves....

How is my favourite Canadian hot girl?

My crazy grandmother, who shows her affection by writing checks (as wonderful as this sounds, it comes with a price to pay in the form of eternal servitude), wants me to take her shopping. For lamp shades. The last time I took her to the post office, it took 30 minutes to walk - excuse me - to shuffle across the mall. Not from one...

Personally ... I barely ever win stuff either. In fact ... I can prolly count on both hands the amount of times I have won something (other than the lottery ... and even then, the most I've won is $100).

But I digress ...

A coveted spot on my friends list you say? Well ... that is all too easily done. That was prolly coming anyways - that isn't a prize.

Anything else? CD? MP3? Book? Hug?

See? Unions and management both need to find better ways to deal with their issues. Strikes are usually not the way. Sometimes they are, but only as a last resort.

I am trying to post these pics of my hair... I even wrote a poem to the "Be My Guest" tune from Beauty And the Beast about my hair... and then it took me so damn long to figure out how to get the URL for the pics in my folder... since I am using a PowerBook G4... I have no idea how to use...

I spent FIVE HOURS at the hairdressers yesterday, and completely changed my hair. My profile pic is my real hair colour (sort of... it's not that blond) and that pic was taken maybe 6 or 7 months ago. Then I had it died black and platinum blond underneath... that was 4 months ago... and now it's completely jet black, and, uh, curly.

My dad saw...

Wow! It does look great! I guess I'm biased because I, too, have black hair these days. The thing that cracks me up is that I can remember a couple of *old women* (in their 40's) during the 70's that had dyed black hair and wore this garrish blue and purple eyeshadow and I was really intrigued and horrified by the image ... but now I'm 41 and I have jet black hair and hot pink accessories and I'm still trying to figure out if I pull it off as well as NolefDetnaw says I do. Or if 14 year olds are all laughing at me behind my back. biggrin

Your job is still going to be fun. It up to you, of course.

So how's the construction coming? Did they finish that all up? How's mom? smile

I cleansed my soul and stayed away from the internet for a while. This led to reading many books, going for walks, taking a ferry to Toronto Island, weed whacking the front lawn, shopping at a nursery, transplanting Azaleas, and weeding the garden.

Hm. Joanna becoming a lady of leisure?

Anyway, We have 2 big downtown shows coming up. We arent trying to play every week. Trying to just get the primo shows. There is also talk of , get this, touring Germany.........Although I am not on board with the idea yet. I have a family to support and I just can't get up and leave. Now if it was a Major Label tour I would be more willing....We will see.

What else is new?

I am all alone this time around
Sometimes on the side I hear a sound
Places parallel I know it's you
Feel the little peices bleeding through...
And On
This goes on
And on
And on (rep.)

Now that I've decided not to stay
I can feel me start to fade away
Everything is back where it belongs
I will be beside you before long...

I have a dilemma, which involves two jobs:

Job # 1: pays dirt but has a potential fun-factor of 10; it involves re-enacting the War of 1812, marching around with a musket, and traveling to Niagra to perform and compete.

Job # 2: pays a couple of bucks more, with the potential to increase that pay over the summer, is the job equivalent...

With amusement, and on a whim, I applied to Historic Fort York as a Guard in the Squad. It involves dressing in authentic garb and re-enacting some Canadian military upheaval from the 19th century. Interview Wednesday.
