My birthday was on Thursday. I'll do a post on my birthday events at a later date because I'm ADD and i'll get all caught up in that and not say what I originally wanted. So... my fiance got me an awesome gift! A top of the line microphone that I can use with my computer to record myself singing. We went away for the weekend so yesterday was the first time that I actually got to use it. It was so clear! The ability to record on my own, when I feel like it (for the most part) is MAJOR.
I've always wanted to record some of my own songs or covers and share with others. I've always had some kind of connection to recording too. I have record with a few people and have access to record for free as long as I schedule the time. But I haven't. In years. I have recorded youtube videos and chorus' for others but never really followed through to use the resources available to me. Having this mic now, however, will allow me to record more spontaneously when the mood strikes.
Today I recorded for a few hours and it was soooo awesome. I was excited to hear myself and imagined what I would sound like once the song was mixed and the levels adjusted. I think that I am finally going to be able to make some of the music I've wanted to make. I'm a little nervous when comes to putting together the collection of songs and making it relevant and enjoyable for listeners.
I'm off tomorrow and i'm going to try to record a few songs while I have the empty house. My fiance and I are supposed to close on our house the first week in Novemeber. I hope that everything goes ok with the appraisal and we get the keys and are able to move in! That would just be mind blowing. The house is so beautiful and in an excellent location for us. I could potentially walk to work. To move somewhere and be able to walk to work, the grocery store, fast food, pharmacy, a few minutes from the highway, and in a good school district is just... blessed. Yep, I said it. Not to mention I might shed a few pounds.
I remember when I lived in New York and I lost so much weight just from walking to the train station each day to go to work. It was the best exercise ever and I didn't even feel like I was doing anything.
I still haven't figured out what exactly to do with my hair. I've been wearing either a ponytail or a wig the last few days. Ho hum.
