(Firstly how come my pictures have huge gaps inbetween them? I have pushed them up against each other in the entry but still they have this big gap, what am I doing wrong?)

It was my mums 50th bday on the weekend and seen as I needed to get some examples of my work for when I apply for the pastry chef apprenticeship I thought I would make her a really nice cake.

Well here is the finished product. I'm very proud of it, I think it turned out really well especially seen as I hadn't ever really made a cake like that before.
The pictures are low quality but here they areThe cake was well received at the party, I had a few people say that if they need a cake in the future they will give me a ring and get me to make them one. To hear this made me really happy. One guy was a professional cook and said I had real talent and that I would get an apprenticeship easily

Yay for me, something good at last!

Anyway it was a really good night, lots of fun, met some really interesting people. A good time was had by all.
