George RR Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series has (had) been the only fictitious writing I’ve ever delved in. I love to read, but I’m admittedly a “boring” topic reader. I like monograms and bios, especially if it’s Medieval era.
Now, a friend finally convinced me to try something that’s similar to the ASOIAF series I love. I started Jennifer Armentrout’s From Blood and Ash last night, got a chapter in.
I like this fraternity guard of the Rise, sort of reminds me of ASOIAF’s Night’s Watch. Poppy is a badass, especially as the Maiden, chosen by “the gods.” She’s a nice blend of Arya and Jon/Aegon6!
I’m eager to see what happens next!
