Maybe I've been away too long, or maybe MJQ is losing its charm. I haven't been there in months and it didn't seem like I was missing much. There was a bunch of Buckhead looking broads, all doing that "I'm dancing because there's music playing" dance trying to look their best in pink, Izod sweaters. There were more than usual of this type. I don't really keep up with local periodicals, so perhaps MJQ got a review as "Best Hipster Dive Bar" or something. I dunno but this site induced immediate consumption of Jack Daniels on my part. In addition to that nonsense, their were a bunch of girls who appeared to be well underage. Normally this is stimuli for my inner pervert, but all these girls were like Kelly Osbourne trapped in a 12 year-old boy's body doing the same dance as the aforementioned Buckhead Bunnies. Maybe I'm really that jaded but I no longer see anything ironic about the whole Indie Rock scene. Lately I see more irony in watching an Elefant or Postal Service video at school, surrounded by a bunch of Hood rats while wearing my headphones. Sometimes I wish I could go through life wearing my headphones and my IPod powered by nothing more than my own contempt for all things that suck. I'm actually not all that bitter, I actually have a returned love for the underground. Some of best times I've had drinking lately, have been at either the Convent or this place I went to with Amy and James last weekend. It was another speakeasy type place, inside of a warehouse and it was fun as hell. I think the clubbing experience for Spring/Summer 2004 is gonna be about the down low. Hopefully
