rainy today, but thank god not windy. jeebus, windy for weeks in a row. it's not right, this wind, i've lived in Boulder most my life and the last decade......and this wind isn't enough to pair with old timey Coloradans working the "you never know" angle. as a kind of machismo of wtf in the weather that is co-opted by the NY and Cali transplants with a groaning ha ha about how they are "flexible" as people to adapt to whatever makes them identifiable as class creatures. most of the latter don't even know the "weather" always nearly comes from the west over the mountains (gulf stream is not a mystery). but, hey, thanks for your mediocre bagel franchises that loom like wrathful gods in the local economy and absurd traffic and endless complaints about how "this isn't as good as you get" back east. but, you are living here by choice in the Provinces. always "back east", not my reference point. my family came west a long time ago, there are no Phish home shows in Nassau County that i see as originary or formative. we've been here a long time.
nice whole wheat toast and a french press home coffee for less than a buck, thank you so much. even buy the fancy brit butter, shmear like a mofo, and save money.
it's like Adorno says....some people just want to buy a ticket to Toscanini. not the music. also interesting, is how people from the east coast moving west seem to assume a "guilt" status on westerners about Native Americans....while they are free in their conscience about it. which is insane. my fam is part Cherokee and Choctaw....and no great shakes or lack of genocide for tribes east of the Apps there either. but, the genocide has been displaced safely in the pioneer myth to the plains tribes and upper midwest where they fought back and deserved "wars".
