RIP: Gil Scott Heron:

movie night at Pablo's:

Linklater's SubUrbia: Parker Posey and Giovanni Ribisi looking so young.....i didn't love this the first time and it's still a rough watch at times. but, some nice moments and some unreleased Sonic Youth (until the deluge of B-sides and outtakes of the early 00's and Thousand Leaves) on the soundtrack. didn't notice that seeing it at the theatre. Mayan in Denver...

I have a Master-Lock U-lock. Should I spring for something a bit pricier, more heavy duty? I admit I'm a bit paranoid about her getting swiped.

beyond the robot underwear and kneesocks and comic book hero nostalgia tween sexuality...there was once Paul Weller and the Jam.

some old school SG.
virilio:
i saw SG open for Danzig in 1990 maybe. talk about a mighty show. Denver Coliseum.....more suited for pro wrestling or an over 30 basketball league game.....but, wow.

SG played beyond the wheel for about 30 minutes. self-titled Danzig LP, the black one. with Twist of Cain and Mother....mighty.

I haven't listened to Soundgarden in a long time. I used to really like that band.

looks like i'll be teaching some cooking classes in the Fall semester at CU's Resident Academic Program dorms.....kind of a fun gig. will also have some cheese to revamp some of the kitchens (which are shameful microwave based reality).....good times.

another windy day in Boulder.

this spring has been brutal with the wind.

That is cool that you are going to be teaching cooking classes. I can not cook at all unless a microwave is involved. Too bad you are in Boulder. I could use some lessons.

pretty good time last night at the IFS bash. saw some old school Boulder peeps (Tom is still kind of a wanker, but hell i've known him for 15 years and he used to go see the Dream Syndicate in LA....Big Mario is still the coolest, had a puff with him in the alley) and turns out Veronica is Ted Thacker's new band (former of...

Your great great grandfather sounded like a pretty amazing individual himself. He did not let his inability to do things interfere with raising children to be productive members of society. He lived his life and accomplished something that is very difficult in my opinion, and that is raising children. They do not come with instruction manuals after all and having something such a disability makes it even harder because oftentimes you are not able to teach them skills that require mobility. He seemed to work through it though and I admire that! Thanks for the kind words on my blog and I hope you have a great rest of the week! biggrin *hugs*

You know I don't know if I've ever really sat down and listened to that one. I definitely should rectify that.

after 15 years of P2P file-sharing, winamp is sucking ass here in the late stages.

ubuntu is cool, but those Linux players are terrible and i have more music than like a TB..

i use both mac and PC so it's not a lifestyle thing: itunes sucks though. mac has made the digital rev a joke with an uncritical happy face,

everyone knows Gates is...

You are so right! Apple is taking over the world. I swear if a computer could run for the presidency I am sure that those at Apple would try to devise one to do so. Those at Windows isn't much better. They are trying so hard to top the sales of Apple products, but sadly it looks as if that isn't working out in their favor. There was a lot of hype over the new Windows based cell phones, but I know many that rushed out to buy them and as expected they are sadly disappointed with their choice. Personally, I have never used Linux, but many have told me that it is much more flexible and easier to navigate. I do not think we will have to worry about the Gates vs. Apple battle for too long. Since Steve Jobs took another administrative leave for health reasons, I think one company is going to feel the punch of his absence. It is just a waiting game to see which it will be....

iTunes is pretty godawful.

I like FUBAR, but I don't know if there's a Linux version. I think it's open-source though, so you could just compile it yourself, I guess.
