whee, 3 weeks since last journal.
christmas has passed.. the family thing was sorta stressful but better than expected. still was booked so tightly it kind of removed the ability to enjoy any of it. funny how we were kids, my folks would get pissed at how quick we'd open gifts. this year my brother and i had our dad yelling about opening quicker since we had to get to my sister's boyfriend's house... doh!
things to mention.. hrm. went to the sgfl gathering on the 20th.. rolled in extremely tired w/ my room mate chris to see a group there.. that was about to go to the castle... oh well, we sat and chatted a bit. i was such the partier that night, between that party and the one i went to earlier, i had a beer and a half! YEAH!... my liver can thank me later. met a decent number of folks that was cool, sadly with my crap memory i'll only be able to sort out ScreamQueenPinup and BatAttak from the faces, as one was the only female, the other was hosting the shindig (in that order)..
Got some odd gifts. Mostly money.. but my room mate sara got me the Family Guy season 1+2 on dvd (roq!).. first gift I opened with my parents was a big piece of wierd green paper, like poster sized.. I kind of stared at it, knowing there was something to it but had no clue.. apparantly my sister was talking about how i'd used construction paper to mount photos at the gallery show thing i did a while ago, and this was to use next time.. nice idea, too bad i don't care for green paper that's supposed to sorta look like lizard skin or something (really not sure)...
got some liquor which is always nice.. my bro+sis found an old argus A at some shop they refuse to tell anyone about (they say it's the perfect place to shop for myself + my dad.. wierd old shit)... gonna wait until I'm a> sober, b> not tired, c> have time, d> have a clean working area to take it apart and try to fix the shutter.. I think it's just slipping on what it's supposed to trigger internally.. too bad it'll be years before a+b+c+d happen at one time!
got some beatup frames too.
Been having alot of fun w/ the polaroid procam... some fun double exposures w/ the b+w film, and fun working on transfers and emulsion transfers w/ the color film.. got a kinda neat emulsion transfer (as I fucked the regular transfer good and proper, thank god ya get a second chance at artfaginess with these things)) of my grandmother, gonna try mounting that in one of the frames I got and give it to my mom..
that's about it.. got the hizzle to myself, my room mate chris is in NYC (bastard)... sara's off house sitting for someone or another (I aughta find out when she's abck and clean a bit first)... 2700 sq ft of ghetto slum house to mahself, oh yeah.

They fucked up one of my prints for the auction so I have to go lay the smackdown on 'em and see what they can do. I was wanting to drop off my pieces for the auction sometime tomorrow, but I may have to wait till Sunday. Is there a number where I can reach you tomorrow when I get back from the framers?
