The jokes are truly endless.

Yes, that's my most recently aquired ludicrous household item. It ranks up there with the Marshall halfstack currently residing in my kitchen. Yes, that's a full sized electric organ.

Boring story short, my grandparents are selling their huge house to move into a condo. More managable, it makes sense. My .. uh.. "Colorful" uncle still lives with them, and he's an obsessive packrat. So we were all down there loading a dump truck with TRASH (some went to the dump, some to a storage unit for the crazy uncle).

This organ has sat in that house as long as I can remember. My brother had suggested I take the organ and hang onto it, and I thought "He's nuts! This is the asshole who rolled a marshall half stack into my house because he didn't have room, he's trying to use my house as musical storage!" I was remembering it being alot larger than it actually was. I guess the size that it imparted on me when I was 5 still stood in my head.. when I got there, it wasn't that big. So I asked my Grandfather, and he said take it! My brother and I loaded it into my pickup, and off I went.

Let me tell you.. driving from South Sarasota to North Tampa on 75 with a large heavy think just creating wind resistance.. not that fun wink

Luckily my friends rule, and two of 'em came to help me unload it (I kept thanking them, but they said "Dude, the chance to play evil music on an organ, as well as the endless source of jokes 'Daves Organ' gives us.. it's worth it!").

It needs some refurbishing. There's some crackle in it, but I think the thing has sat nearly unmoved for at least 20 years, probably more like 30 (need to research it), so I'm thinking dust on key contacts and maybe a blown speaker is the cause. It's got the works, the split keys (different sounds on both if you want), plus the pedals that you can set to a bass sound. Theoretically you could play a rhythm, a bass rhythm and a lead, all in different sounds. I'm not that coordinated.

I'm psyched. Been thinking about buying a console (upright) piano.. this is a cheap way to get some keys for now. Still working on making the house a home. The organ is part of it. I told a friend about it, and her response was "Dude, that's so fucking wierd. And so you." .. people expect this from me, and luckily I deliver.

Jury duty monday, whee! Second time in about 4 months, this kind of sucks. I got excused last time, contemplating the same this time, or just wait for questioning. Family in Law Enforcement? Check. Witness to a crime? Check. Victim of a crime? Check. The hits keep on coming. Figure I'm not exactly jury material for most lawyers, shouldn't be too bad, just gotta wake up a bit early.

My oldest friend is coming to stay at my joint for a week. He got a pimp job doing cool stuff.. I won't give specifics, but let's just say he'll be helping bust pedo pervs.. which is ultimately cool for me! Anyhow, dig this.. I've known him for 23 or 24 years. And I'm 28. Rarely do people hang onto friends that long!

Work's rockin'. Have a fun project. Again, I don't like talking much about that.. but we'll just say I love me some NBC corporate, and 23000 people in the Tampa Bay area can't be wrong.. one love!

I continue my loving-life. People at work think I'm on drugs or have a woman that I'm not telling anyone about. Neither is true.. and their bizarre reaction to my optimism and happiness just entertains me even more. I feed off that stuff!

Hope anyone reading this (conversed with or not) is doing good!

Pardon my unforivable ignorance, but what is Leslie?

On the other hand, hooray for getting it up and running, even if it's a bit at a time. When it's all done, I bet you could use that thing to do some kick ass Doors covers!

Edwards is having a CAO event this Fri. 30th. From 5-7. Not sure which line they'll be giving out. But, it does mean CAO specials.
