okay some background. i'm a computer guy.
this job i've had 4 yrs. was told "you're being
hired for system engineering and network stuff,
you'll rarely if ever deal with windows problems,
we'll hire someone for that, and you will never
travel."

i spent th efirst 6 months on the road 3.5
weeks out of th emonth traveling, setting up offices
and fixing windows problems.

now here's my rant.

we have a shop that does plan handling stuff
and CAD work for our folks. i know 0 about cad.
we have a program that the 2 cad people use..
and they don't know how to. they have the manuals,
they don't open 'em. if it doesn't work as the old
version that's 4 yrs old did, they say it's broken
and don't work, and eventually their boss finds out
and bitches that it's my fault.

i figured.. i ahve a solution! i call support, somewhat
let them know the problem, and they contact the
CAD employees. this way, the CAD folks can't
wuss out and let them close the support ticket,
like they did at first... the support people have to
get MY permission to do it.. and I make them wait
until I confirm the problem is solved.

This worked for a while. Most problems were solved,
now one left.. and the support person called the
CAD person + emaile her, and the CAD person
said she was too busy to deal w/ it right then.
Then I got jumped on about it, so I contacted
support, the support person sent me the email she
sent to the CAD person w/ things to try, and that
she hadn't heard back.

NOW... their boss is calling my boss's boss with
vague incorrcet information and bitching.. and he
tells her (in his micromanagement, not talk to
people sort of way) to call me and say he said
to get it done.

So.. I get in a shouting match on the phone, because
the CAD boss isn't explaining problems. I find
out after 20 minutes the first problem isn't what
she said, AND NOT IN MY DEPARTMENT AT
ALL.

the second problem, I finally find is the problem
we'd been working on that the CAD employee
never responded to the support people about.

So I said.. "Has she tried the stuff the support
person sent?".. boss: NOTHING IS WORKING,
me: Has she tried it? boss: No. She's not getting
involved. YOU HAVE TO FIX IT.

I explained that the best solution is to continue
how we had, with her employee dealing with the
support person. I don't do cad. I do'nt use cad.
I don't know the terminology. I DON'T HAVE THE
FUCKING 7,000$USD PROGRAM HERE FOR ME
TO TRY. I said, the employee should dela with it
as it's been a usage problem, and tha tway she'd
learn.

The boss says "WHY DID IT WORK BEFORE AND
NOT NOW, MY PEOPLE DO NOT MESS WITH
THEIR COMPUTERS!"

okay.. back ground again.. she told me last week
it never worked w/ the new programs.. so which
is it?

and this employee is one that's been on probation
for 6 months (just ending july1).. because we found
her continually installing instant messaging programs
(even when she was told NOT to, and talked to,
and we kept uninstalling 'em), and also logging
into personal sites sending VERY SEXUALLY
EXPLICIT EMAILS TO PEOPLE.

sure.. this person doens't fuck with their computer.
RIGHT.

so now, my boss's boss has bad info, that woman
called me and the above shouting match ahppend and i hung up before i started to curse
at her, because that's just not professional.

So I figure.. I'll call my boss's boss, and tell him
what's up. Gee, he's too busy to take my call.
He takes another call from the CAD boss though.
He takes 3 other calls. But he's yet to call me
back an hour later.


please God, let me fucking get the job w/ the
cable company so i can write a resignation note
on my right nut and submit it as a high-rez photo!!!!
