So I stole 18vision's idea and went to see Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events with my partner in crime Karla. She took me for a drink and burgers (yum!) and I took her to the movie- it was a lovely date and she never minds if I don't put out

This will sound probably sound weird, but there was a sobriety checkpoint on my way home and I was actually happy to stop because I was sober. Had I gone about my normal routine, yours truly would most likely have a DUI. Nonetheless, I stopped, asked the cops (who were actually cute) if they needed to see my license, to which they saluted me and told me "Merry Christmas" and "Welcome to Canada!" I drove home grinning and feeling at peace. Note to self: Your main resolution this is year is no more drunk driving. Ever. Stick to cabs or bars within walking distance or find a sober friend that does not mind picking your drunkass up at 2 a.m.

Anyhow, it was a lovely night and I am off to finish my book about cadavers and their uses for medical and technical research. It's called "Stiff"- go check it out! Really interesting read so far.
