I watched "Say Anything" the other day, and halfway through I got the email that ended whatever hope I had of Amanda. I'm glad it is over. I guess she had been hinting all along that she was not interested, it just took her this long to come out and say it. Doesn't matter, I had felt for a while that something was not right, so it didn't hurt as much when she finally did say it.
One o' these days I will find someone. And if I don't, well, I guess I will probably be just fine anyways. Maybe after I am rich I will hire a full time lover.
Right now I think maybe I need to concentrate on getting my butt back to San Francisco where I belong and getting into a proper med school program from Berkeley or SF state, and then get into UCSF. I'll have my associate's in the spring, and all summer to drive across the country like I have always wanted.
It's been fun drifting from here to there, working crappy jobs and going nowhere, but now I feel like it is time to move forward.

Sounds like a lovely new beginning. I plan to get over to Amstradam at some point. As soon as I'm all better and I get all the official DEERS stuff for my son out of the way. The Army is SO slow. Of course you would know that. I hate even being around it. It makes me sad to see everyone look the same, act the same, be forced to conform. The same person multiplied a thousand times walking around outside. It's sucking the life out of me I think.
