It's Friday. It's been a long week. If meemaw hangs on a little longer I"m headed up to DC tonight so my son can entertain my step dad. He's so lost with out my moms.
It feels like fall today and that makes me so happy. I can open my windows again and the colors of the sky are incredibly blue and sharp looking. Fall is my favorite season and I love an early preview. laceygloveand I used to go apple picking every fall when we were younger and we would watch my grandmother make real apple sauce. I miss the simplicity of things sometimes and the joy of making things truly from scratch. Tonight I think I'll dust off my butter churn and see what I can stir up? That didn't sound so good.

This journal has been edited to add this exciting update: The wedding madness is over, now I get to listen to blushing bride call all the various companies to change her last name. Because you just can't have a bill come to you with the wrong name. Not when your a newlywed. And you have to think for 5 minutes as to what name to sign on your credit card receipt. Ahh decisions.

I think that's one of the reaosns i'll probaly live in hampton roads the rest of my life. The winters are mild enough that you can really enjoy them and not suffer the cold, and the Autumns are glorious just a few hours drive away.
As for the week-end, i hope all goes well. I can only imagine how tough it is. As for me, as much as I'd LOVE to see the Violent Femmes I think I'm going to pass. I usually like to rest up the night before a race, even short ones. Then I will be spending the ENTIRE day at the beach. by the time i leave tomorrow I will probaly have been there about 14 hours.
