I've had a great start to the weekend so far. I've been coming down with a cold and took mass quantities of emergen c chased by oj and alka seltzer and the sniffles are gone, but the raspy voice remains. It was worth it for a great night last night. Went with the guy to the Govinda Gallery and met up with some friends for the Punk Love opening. There is something about standing in the same room as your biggest musical icons that makes you feel great. Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye and company were there and silly dorky me I was too nervous to even go up and say anything.

From there I had a great dinner followed by many drinks at Asylum and the Black Cat. I drank way too much, fondled the guy inappropriately in publice and didn't get enough sleep. The makings of a good time!

From that I go into domestic goddess zone today - cleaning, making veggie lasagna in only my apron, listening to Prairie Home Companion. Much quieter, but still nice. The guy is practicing his bass and the guitar and I like yelling out songs for him to play. I'm in such a happy place right now.

I heard from my former friend/ex-employee once referred to as Rolling Pin today. I was fired from my job as Property Manager in VA Beachin Oct of '05 and hadn't talked to her since then. A new company took over, they pushed me out to bring their own manager in. It was a really rough patch for me, and it was hard not having closure. The blast from the past told me that people who were a part of my everyday life at one point still think kindly of me and that was what I needed to hear. Thank you Courtney.
