One of my favourite places in the world is - wait for it -

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Dudley Zoo.

Take a look.

Sometimes it's hard to be a tiger.

"Man, I'm ferocious."

They've got some new shit going down at the zoo this summer.

Like baby goatlets.

Lemur wood's the cool new (ish) inititative where visitors get to walk amidst the creatures, and the creatures in question get to swing from ropes and branches and walk along ramps and rafters and sit on park benches next to the humans. You aren't supposed to stroke the lemurs, but it's impossible.

I mean it's impossible, because even if you keep your paws off them, they don't keep theirs off you, and it can't be helped if you have something good to eat in your pocket.

That's not me, by the way, it's just some dude who kept featuring in my photos of lemurs because he had good things to eat in his pockets.

This is us.

My friend Nanga was a little out of sorts.

Scientific fact: Snow Leopards CAN roar; we heard her. Poor Olympus had to skulk around and keep his distance for fear of causing offense.

At least Tijum the club-footed firefox was in good spirits.

He's such a nickle sweetface.

I've got some video clips of lemurs, so if I can work out how to, like, play them, I'm going to string them together and maybe put some Benny Hill music in the background, and won't that be fun to watch? If you want to see pictures of otters, mongeese, meerkats, or a cuckaburra swallowing a mouse whole, check my pics folder because I'm growing weary of posting.

In entertainment news, I saw the film of To Kill A Mockingbird the other day. Actually, I've seen it three times in the last week. It's mighty good, but just on an advisory note, don't bother watching the extras, unless you're a particular fan of content-free Hollywood sentimentality, or if you were in any *doubt* as to how great Gregory Peck was, or if you entirely failed to realise that, you know, the kids were quite talented too, as was the dude who played Tom Robinson, and that the goodness of a film also depends on a screenwriter who knows their stuff, slick direction and cinematography and - well, anyway. I've got the theme tune unshakeably stuck in my head. It's one of those string-heavy epic, nostalgic tear-jerker theme tunes, and you won't know how enfuriating that is until you go rent.

lylee:
i wanna go to that zoo!!
