This past week has been the best week in my professional career.
My last entry I talked about being on the roster to work with Local 33 as a union stagehand and production crew member. Well, on Monday I got my first call from the union to work and have worked 4 union days out of the past 5, plus I have been working the past two days on a TV pilot for a children's education program that is paying fairly well.
Monday morning 9am-5pm: My first union call was to work in the props warehouse for "General Hospital"
Monday evening 9pm-4am: I worked as a stagehand at the Rolling Stones concert at the Forum and even got a "Rolling Stones local crew" tshirt as a keepsake.
Thursday 12:01am - 8am: I worked as a rigger at the Western Pacific theater in Hollywood helping to install a custom 42" by 21" 3D projection screen.
Friday evening 7pm - Saturday morning 7am (12 hour day): I worked as a grip / carpenter setting up the new set for American Idol
American fucking Idol, I have been watching that show for the past couple season almost without missing an episode and now I have worked on it
I like the union.
