The race was a success. People were smiling when all was said and done, so I'm happy.

Spoke cards are printed and being laminated as we speak, packs o' cards (Bicycle Brand, of course) are ready, as are hole punches, still need to find frikkin' glow-sticks...
I'll probably be chowing on a burger (yeah, yeah, and sippin' a pint) before the start, so you can pre-register at the Cat if you see me there. Otherwise; "safety check" at 9:30, launch at 10:00....

It's Greek for "four-letter word" and usually (in this case) refers to a Hebrew word which is the unspeakable name of God. It is carved over the entrance of a house of worship, but it's not a synagogue.

Oldest church, oldest house... there's a lot of "oldest" going on in that neighborhood.

I rode the course last night at a somewhat leisurely pace; 17:10 was my time.
When I chose the checkpoints, I did not look at one-way streets, tourist attractions, or routes in general, I just "stuck pins in the map." There are lots of wrong-way sections, lots of dumb tourists, and a number of crazy intersections.
But hey, that's riding in Santa Fe, no?

There are two obelisks downtown. One is on the Plaza.

Someone asked me today where the escalator was. I had to be honest and tell them, "That's part of the scavenger hunt."
