ahh just finally finished watching RahXephon

it is different from evangallion?

only in that in the end they didnt do a shitty half hour montage because they ran out of money.

its good time killer with excellent color theory and industrial design and keeps you interested..... until the last episode


i know japanese anime is supposed to be ground breaking and all, but often times if you see enough you relize that just like disney they paint themselves into their own little corner as well and in the end while you see trillions of dollars of equipment destoyed, nations and nations of lives wiped out in a hiroshima type explosion,

the story ends up in a shitty love triangle with the protagonist getting over a hang up that is usually some kind of inferiority complex and the only thing he can utter as millions of people get blown away around him and the world turns into a giant death egg of destruction or whatever is

"oh, i um accept myself"

while the supporting bitch character gets all rosy cheeked and says

"oh i finally can express my feelings for you"

and a nude extra being impaled by ten dozen demon phaluses utters

"IM COMING!!!"

this is where artists like hayao miyazaki stand out and do not follow the stupid crowd. i sincerely recommend any anime lover to check out all of his works, ya, some of it is cheesy

but it is cheesy in a human intuitive kind of way, unlike the callous uuberviolent overfiend demons shit like the rest of it is.
