I've lived in other parts of the world, but San Antonio is what I call home.

I love receiving free money.

Yesterday, the postman delivered a fun envelope, one I wouldn't actually dread tearing open. This one contained a Visa card with $100 from rent.com. Yes. Please. The sad part is I actually spent all one hundred dollars by eveningtime. I figured I'd treat myself because of my strenuous and tiring (though my fatigue turned out to be a result of P.M.S. - whee!) shift at work. I had a drink at Bennigan's as well as a wonderful meal. I later ventured on over to a CD Exchange location where Mitch found some Atom and His Package record (christ, I think that band is so bad) and where I found the two volumes of Full Metal Alchemist for thirteen bucks a piece! The card was finally finished off at Best Buy in exchange for season one of both Arrested Development and, my favorite show of all time, Married with Children. Talk about quality entertainment.

I'm really in the mood for moseying on over to one of the museums in town and just spending hours upon hours there. I find museums to be both stimulating and relaxing. Science museums are way cool, but I've found more attraction towards art and history museums. I have a certain fascination with how people used to live. When one realizes just how differently our society consumes and functions, one is filled with an bigger and more insatiable curiosity as to how one would actually live one hundred, two hundred or even seven hundred years ago. Or, at least, I do from time to time. I often wonder what the scare of contracting smallpox would be like, knowing that if I caught it, several of my family members (if not myself) would definitely die. Sleeping on vermin-infested stacks of hay. Eating freshly-plucked vegetables and freshly-killed small game. Bathing once a month, if that. And I'm sure MANY girls think about this -- what the fuck would dealing with menstruation be like?

Ew.
