ok
i had an epiphany yesterday
while slightly stoned
no less

i've been trying
so hard
to put my life back together
to put myself back together
but i've been doing it
completely wrong
it's like not knowing what you really need to take on vacation
so you pack a monstrously suitcase to the brim
for a two day trip

in a lot of ways
life is the big journey
but all you have is a knapsack
and if you try
to take more with you then you should
then your pack will surely break
and you have to try
to pick it all up again
it would be much easier
to keep only what you need
and a little extra room
for this and that along the way
oh
and you have to remember
not to pick up something
that you've already thrown out once
unless
you realized that you really needed it

i'm driving to kansas
to see a friend
and talk some
which will do me good
