THE DEMISE OF ROCKSTAR
I lost my computer drive a while ago - my computer straight up died. In the interim, I've kept my music collection on my ipod - all music I've collected since... well.... like, 2001.
Yesterday, due to a calamity I cannot explain, my iPod became corrupt and had to be restored.
And I lost ALL my music.
I'm devastated, as you can imagine.
In a way, I will be able to start over without the inevitable album you're embarrassed to find playing in the middle of a party while on shuffle, or have to explain why at one point I was really into sad, moody shit. But there was an incredibly valuable collection of music I will never be able to get back.
I've started a list of things that occur to me that were on my iPod, as they occur to me (so it's not particularly complete, in any sense of the word). No judging... just take a look, and if you can help me out, in whatever way you can - to recover some of the albums, or introduce me to the new ones, it would be so awesome. I'm equally open to anything you think I should have in my newly established collection.
In exchange, I would be willing to trade some of my fantastic hip-hop collection from emusic, as I've found that I can re-download it, or the somewhat enticing promise of a strong drink if we find ourselves at the same show or bar.
I'm trying not to cry onto my keyboard, and have renamed "Rockstar" to the rehabbed and drug free "Aerosmith".
Back up your music folks.
