I sometimes feel that I've failed at raising my cats and am a horrible parent (when actually, I just have too many of them in one household) . In regard to his adopted (and only) child, a friend once said something to the effect that "it was tough knowing that every little thing we do is fucking him up in some way for the rest of his life."
