i have been very tormented. peace has been distant. i have been counseled to go inside. to be silent. to shut off the goddamn t.v.
there is breath in this advice.
i have longed to be away from the moment... an indicator of my imbalance. i have been pining for the past. a foolish pursuit. i was recently reviewing pictures of my life before my son and i appear to be carefree. "appear" is the important word. in hindsight, memories change, lessons might be learned. only now can i say i was carefree. then i would have said no such thing.
the rub is feeling the peace in the present moment.
