i was given "the unbearable lightness of being" by a ballet dancer i was sleeping with when i was 16. he said i reminded him of sabina. it is a novel of friendship, sex, and relationships, and provided to me a template of extra-marital affairs, and the complications that come with them. sabina was such a strong character, that i have since tried to pattern my life after hers. so that is the first way in which the book changed my life. secondly, kundera's poetry of being closer to the earth and relationship=being tied down from heaven , moved me. the closer we are to true happiness in relationships, the more pulled down to earth we are.when we are truly free, it is when we are the most alone and "unbearably light"-i can't even write the ways in which this book affected me-it has molded my subconcious for the last ten years skull

i think its very interesting how things we are introduced to during our teens have such an effect on molding our adult person. if i was introduced to the things that i consider helped to create the person that i am now, i dont think i would think them a great deal. (how is that for syntax).

It's from a poem I wrote recently, the entire version of it will be in my journal in a day or so. Thanks I appreciate it. Your entry really got me thinking the imagery behind is very profound and subtle.

The poem is called "And The Sky Up Above Was Blue" I'lll send a copy of it to your email.
