so, after spending a sleepless night obsessed with my own mortality, i rolled into court on monday morning, 8am sharp. an hour goes by, two hours go by, and all that is happening is the judge heckleing the incompetent and disorganized DAs office (i know they have huge caseloads and all, but now i understand why murderers go free here-the DA loses the paperwork). finally i here my case called, and the DA starts saying something about a witness moveing jurisdictions. i politely raise my hand to let somone know that i was there, and the judge starts screaming at me "will someone please tell my why this girl is waving at me? will someone get here out of here before i throw her out?" now i am almost in tears. the DA pulls me outside and tells me that i don't have to be there, that is was for cops only. he told me that no one called to excuse me because the attorney who was handleing my case went out of town and must have forgotten about it. i was furious. but at least i didn't get shot.
oh, and i decided to quit my job for real, and give two weeks notice.
