my eye feels a little bit better, but it is allergic to sunlight, so i am still stuck in the house. dumped kalua in my morning coffee-that is helping my mood a bit. around noon there was a ferocious banging on my door. since i am always convinced that someone is trying to break in and kill me, i opened the door slowly, with mace in hand. it was just the sheriff. handing over not one, but two, subpoenas. no wonder people don't prosecute. i will have spent almost 100 dollars just on cab rides before it is all over, and missed 3 mornings of work. it is hard enough for me to pay for this-i can't imagine if i was really poor.

the legal system around here isnt as generous. i had to stand jury duty for the first time a few months ago. if the case had gone to trial i would have ended up losing my job and do you think the city cared? NO!!!

yeah, it is third world down here. no way is the city going to pay. which is why i want to move to portland. the only reason the case is getting prosecuted at all is because of the upswing in murder around here. during the sniper shootings in the DC area, we had 30 murders.
