if you don't want to spend a fortune, i had a good time shooting with a fuji finepix s5200.. i grew out of it really quickly, but it only cost about $300..

now i'm shooting with a canon digital rebel xti, and i love it more than any camera ever (though i haven't owned many, and this is my first SLR)...
