So I went and did my first agency work yesterday. I am keeping my regular full-time position where I currently work, but have decided to try working elsewhere on the side for extra cash. At least occassionally. And the pay is good. Better than overtime pay.

I was super nervous beforehand because agency nurses are usually given the assignments no one else wants. Like the one that is going through delirium tremors and is spitting at you or one who is shitting every 30 minutes in the bed, requiring cleaning-up. And it was a hospital I had never been in, know nothing about their policies or where anything is stored, etc. I just kept thinking , "They better be nice to me!" And they were. After I got over my initial panic, which lasted about 30 minutes or so. Afterall, its the ICU and things move at a fast pace, which can be bad if you don't know where anything is.

There was a girl there who had tried to kill herself by injecting bleach into her veins. Just awful.

On a better note, I have Christmas with the extended family today, which means good eatin'. And tonight I am going to a pajama jam. Yep, out drinking beer in my pj's. I'm debating wearing some kids pj's with the footies and that zip all the way up (they actually fit!) or my strawberry shortcake nightgown. Anyway, it should be fun.
