The local government election took place today and I went to vote in the last minutes. Though I have to admit that I've been more interested in the US presidential election than the municipal election of my community. I've just moved here so I voted a person with similiar interests belonging to the right party. No, not right as the Right
I've had some problems understanding the SG dating feature since there is no option for the leftist people in the political leanings section. In my point of view the Liberals are the guys who want everyone to take care of themselves and the government to stay away from people's lives. I guess that's not the situation in the US.
The main parties in Finland are the Social Democrat party (which is the biggest of them) who are kinda wanting to please everyone and dont sport the leftist politics as the name suggests, the Center party which used to be a sort of a farmer party, the National Coalition Party which is the Finnish right-wing party, the Left Alliance (the left-wing party), the Green League of Finland and the Swedish People's Party (Swedish is the second official language in Finland)
There are also some minor parties like communists, liberals and the right-wing extremists.
