well the household just received some bad news. flatmaates were supposed to get a cat last night, its bin promised for about 2 months now and then when it came to delivery day they never showed...... ended up getting a phone call saying they were not going to drop off the kitten, ever. turns out the breeder selling them was too attached to let it go. now thats understandable but whe u realise that my flatmates had paid the deposit and bought a load of stuff for the cat already its pretty fuckin harsh. the atmosphere here now is icy to say the least.

I can understand that the breeder has got attached but if he's taken a deposit then hasn't he entered a contract with that person to deliver the goods?
It's pretty extreme and most likely a waste of money but surely a claim can be made for either the cat itself or the deposit and other expenses laid out because of this 'contract'?
