I'm glad to hear that other friends are feeling that there's been a bit of a lull around here. At least I can comfort myself with the thought that it's not just me.

Confession time: I have a bit of a humor addiction. It's a problem. Try to keep it under wraps, but I need to have a certain amount of funny in my day to counterbalance all the rest, especially if there's been a lot of sadness around here.

Look at the size of his brainy forehead. Impressive. That's B F Skinner, father of radical behaviorism and inventor of the operant conditioning chamber, otherwise known as the Skinner box (see diagram below.)

When it is not there, I get very cross and this is what results:

I start turning all Gen X, raging against the machine and feeling alienated and disenfranchised, because that is what we Xers do. I decide to leave it all behind and return to a more pastoral time, a time before email, and social sites, when people phoned and others did or did not answer. A time when...GASP...people saw each other face to face to talk. Then I snap out of it.....and log into my Skinner box again to see what I missed. It's a pretty vicious cycle.

The spirit of Buddy Holly pops by to bless my milkshake.

Mmmm....50s music plus a tall milkshake on a hot day is getting to be a bit of a habit with me. A habit which has got to stop soon, my favorite jeans are telling me. Don't know why, but I've been on a real 50s kick lately. Those driving beats and crisp notes sound so fresh to me at the moment. The more I fiddle around with the guitar, the more I fall in love with Buddy Holly all over again. This has been a favorite of mine all week.

What's not to love about those guys, right?
