Sorry, to update so soon, but I just had to get past yesterday's depressing journal with a couple of things that made me happy today.
Over lunch I helped my best friend move some chairs into her pad. They were given to her by the stylish society guys she works for. Get this, the chairs used to belong to.....

I don't know why, but for some reason it tickles me to no end to know that her illustrious ass once filled the chairs that now reside in a corner of my friend's living room, near the window with the good view. Like Wayne & Garth with Alice Cooper, neither of us felt worthy enough to sit in them. We just stood there sipping tea and staring. I guess Tina's probably used to that.
As a reward my friend took me to me to grab a nibble at one of our favorite coffee houses here, Cafe Brasil. There was the cutest little old couple there who walked in holding hands and were so attentive to each other. Pulling out chairs, wiping latte foam off each others faces, giggling, etc. They must have been in their late 80s, but a hip, happening late 80s. I just love seeing cornball stuff like that....old couples who still hold hands. It got me thinking about the "hand" and how symbolic it is...
It is a thing of beauty,
to be studied.
More than anything, for me this symbolizes love most succinctly.
There to be examined scientifically,
THE HAND
The human hand has 27 bones: the carpus or wrist account for 8; the metacarpus or palm contains 5; the remaining 14 are digital bones; fingers and thumb. Contrary to popular opinion, we're not the only primates posessing opposable thumbs. What makes the human hand unique is the ability of the small and ring fingers to rotate across the palm to meet the thumb. This feature developed about 3.2 million years ago. About a quarter of the motor cortex in the human brain is devoted to the muscles of the hands.

or to cry out in all of its poignancy for freedom lost.

I know I've got a lot of good things going for me in my life. My family, my lady, my health, all wonderful things. I just get tired of the crap sometimes and have to force myself to count my blessings. One new and very positive thing that did happen was my discovering SG. Otherwise, I wouldn't have met wonderful people like yourself.
I managed to post at least a handful of pics of myself and my family from last week. I hope you get a chance to see them. I'll try to post more next week.
